Hello,

Here is my Uberti Hawken I bought at an auction in Italy while I was there on vacation. The documentation says it was marketed by western arms in the US. It had a mounting 14 mounted peep site an escutcheon on the tang as well. Both of those items were probably not original to the gun. The escutcheon appears to be engraved with a CT. But it could also be a G. My name starts with G so that is fine with me. The rear site was missing so I had to add that. It needs a little refinement still. The Peepsight base will have to be modified somewhat to sit low enough. I’m thinking strictly long range shooting with that as I work up a load. It will be fun to see how it performs It will be fun to see how it performs

Thanks! That's what I was told and why I bought it. The Shutzen style sight and escutcheon would not be original to the gun, but some who emigrated from Germany or Switzerland during that period would certainly have been familiar with these things during that period. Anyway, they can be changed out if need be. I appreciate y our insight.
