This appears to be a Japanese Ultra Hi smoothbore, I measured the barrel as .66 with cheap calipers, though it cleaned fine with my .62 jag. I’ve never fired it, just gave it a quick once over. I’m sure it could use a little more cleaning though the barrel looks excellent. Lock functions fine. Flint sparked each time I tried it.

Now, I am not familiar with Ultra Hi guns, but my google-foo led me to believe there was some concerns with the way in which some of their barrels were joined at the transition between octagon and round. I don’t know if said concerns apply to this particular gun or not. Of course as is the internet’s way, other folks said they shot their UH smoothbore for years and it was great. So use your own judgement or have someone more knowledgeable give it the once over if you are unsure of whether or not all is safe and well.

The only other noteworthy thing I noticed was that someone put some silly putty in the patchbox. I assume it wasn’t staying closed tightly, but I didn’t remove the putty to find out.

$350 shipped in the CONUS where legal. USPS Money order preferred, though a personal check is fine if you are an established member and don’t mind waiting for it to clear. Feel free to ask any questions!

I have one and the bore measures 0.67 with a gauge pin though it's marked '69 caliber'. The thing about two piece barrels is not true, at least on mine, it just looks that way because of how it was manufactured. The quality of these guns is not the best, they are kind of cartoonish and the manufacturing is crude. Certainly not to the level of Japanese manufacture typically found today. Having said that I really like mine because it's the kind of gun that I can have fun with and not have to treat well because it's not worth much and for a flintlock it goes off 99% of the time.

I should also add that while crude I see no indication that these are not safe to shoot normal loads. I use mine as a shot gun and shoot shot and spent cartridge primers out of it. I also took a foot off of the barrel so it now looks like a musketoon.

Thanks skoda, that’s good to know! I don’t have any first had knowledge so I appreciate your input.

I had their version of a tower pistol . The breech plug was not thread, as far as I could determine. The breech plug tang was barely tack welded to the breech, and broke off. That was my experience with Ultra HI, yours may be different.

I don’t know about their pistols, but the tang looks solid on the guy.

Not to hijack the thread but is it possible to directly message someone on this site? Reading through old threads, Skoda has a gun that I would be interested in purchasing, but I'm not sure how to contact him directly. Thanks for any help.

Doug
