Recently some foks were wanting an under hammer action kit.

While wandering through the Log Cabin Shop catalog, I found one for $144.95, it's part number 42UHAK.

if this is Kit the Billinghurst style of underhammer?? Be prepared to deal with a lot of misalignment and twist in the cast parts!
I'm dealing with a kit now ( was given to me ) that the lower tang is as much as 1/4" off from the upper tang and both have twist..

Just what I have discovered?? maybe someone else would get luckier with their part set.. also designed for 1 1.25-1.5" barrel so it
takes some mod'ing to use a smaller acf barrel..

No idea, I found it when looking for something else in the catalog.

All my under hammers are Ingrham's.

I have one of those casting sets. I have been in no hurry to build it. The casting quality is pretty poor and will make a sloppy action when done.

I've thought about doing a severe mod to the action.. Basically building it to work like one of my locks :thumb:
Still, looking back it has potential?? The first thing I'd do is anneal all of the frame parts and take any stresses out of the parts..This would allow me to
nudge some of the twist and bends out of it easier.. It would also eliminate any of the hard spots I've encountered when machining the thing to fit and
work with a 1" barrel.

IF I hadn't been given this one, the better idea would have been to start from scratch and build the whole thing myself.
