Bill,
Yep, I and my Buddy Marlow < MRW on this forum > built it. It was my son's Christmas present 2003 from "Uncle marlow" and Dad.
Marlow came up with the idea to make an H&A clone..and has built some that were patterned even more closely. I DO NOT, like the pins running through the frame and suggested an inserted lockworks. Marlow handed me this frame and said "Lets see you do it! " when I was done with the frame and parts, he gave me the Walnut wood and suggested we make it as a gift for Colton.
The clean frame opens up some artistic possabilities. Lots of ways to fancy it up with engraving and such. That is as soon as I teach myself to engrave :winking: I have three more frames in the shop.. just have to find the time and clear up a few other obligations first..
If you have the Logan book, on Underhammers. The action is a modified Cook's design. The hammer throw is real short, about 0.75",and most people think they have it in the half-cock position.. I cast a rear, pewter pour on the forearm.. to act as a built in flash guard.. This lil' .50 cal carbine weighs in at about 5lbs 6 oz.
Hope that answers your questions??
Respect Always
