On our shooting range we shoot 25m with pistols and 50m with rifles. The sites I have mounted are good for 100m as well.
Tell me what is BTW?

Some sweet looking pistols in that post. Speaks for the brown/blue/bright question of that period as well. Thanks

Hi musketman
Thanks for the nice pictures from old underhammer. So far to the history of underhammer.

I doubt that I find any underhammer pistol in good condition.

I rather looking for a supplier of new models. Maybe someone who is a specialist of it. :winking:

Assuming you navigated to the underhammer site you should have seen the H&A underhammer. Other than custom makers this is the only UH pistol I know of.

This guy claims that underhammers are more accurate than sidelocks. I doubt this having seen sidelocks shoot 50's with 3 or 4 x's at 50 yards with iron (peep/globe) sights. The theory is that the sidelocks rotate from the hammer falling. How much can a one ounce hammer can twist an 8 lb. rifle from 5/8 inch off center axis?

I have a cheap Spanish kentucky pistol from the 70's or 80's and a Colt 1860 army replica, both of which are lots of fun to shoot, the Kentucky has the fastest flintlock I've ever seen.

Another thing, the H&A UH pistol was under $40 back in the 70's, I don't know what they go for now. If you aren't completely sold on them you might want to look at other pistol kits such as http://trackofthewolf.com/ offers.

Good luck
