Say it ain't so! a Google search produces a bunch of missing info, one parts place that doesn't have any parts , talk to us later (Numrich), another who's kinda out of biz (Blue Grouse) but continues to whet your appetite with parts, etc. and a couple of sites selling guns for $2500 up!
Does anyone here have any info at all about where to actually BUY SOME PARTS or GET SOME DRAWINGS?
Thanks, whoever you are!!!

What do you want???? Don't know if Deer Creek stll has everything, they had run out of some stuff, but they are the only people to have had all the parts and uns for years,(Blue Grouse) like to say he made this and that but got his stuff rom them, he's a house builder, or was till...Fred :hatsoff:

The log Cabin has an underhammer kit for sale. The Log Cabin is at 8010 Lafayeyye Rd., Lodi, Ohio 44254. Phone number 330-948-1982.

I'd sure like to get a drawing or tracing of the trigger return spring for an early '70s Numrich Hopkins and Allen under hammer. I have everything else, just lost the spring.

pacific rifle works, it think. theyare here in oregonand build UH's. they were inCarlton Or, but may have recently moved. They built the"zephyr"I believe.

The return spring is part of the main spring. All one piece, the main spring is attached with a screw at the rear, the trigger return is a tab or section of spring going forward pressing on the bottom of the trigger. The main spring is cut down on each side to the width of trigger-hammer slot. Hope this helps. TF

Hey, Thanks for the leads! I'm contemplating a chunk gun, why, who knows!

Buffler,
I've built several chunk, and offhand, rifles on H&A as well as Deercreek actions and they work well. Barrels are simple to install and you can create almost anything you want. I have a few rifles and parts that I could let go of. If you are interested email me.

the little tab that returns the trigger has to be just a little aimed down as it hits trigger, it's tricky to get it just right or you mess up trigger pull, might be better off to just pu in new trigger, hammer, and trigger spring..takes very little fitting and cost under 30 from DC. Kansas, have you called Deer Creek lately? I purchased a whole action and spare parts a month ago.

Kansas Volunteer- I have replaced a few of these with a small coil spring by drilling a small hole in the frame to hold a pin that the spring can ride on. With a little work the pin can also be used as an over travel stop for the trigger.

GMWW, I've googled Deer Creeck and can't find a phone number or web site. I do seem to recall a webste once. Can you provide me with a phone number or link. I'd really like to get my H&A back into action, and if they have the parts, maybe build a second one in a larer caliber than my .45.

Hi All: Log Cabin Sport Shop has a kit (42UHAK) and I mean kit for $80 rasbuckniks. You'll need a pistol grip stock, a good drill, some pins, a way to harden the spring, and a lot of elbow grease; the kit is all castings. Don't know what the casting alloy is, so hardening and tempering the spring and engagement surfaces will be iffy :hmm: . Buy 2 kits? Still, looks like it might work OK.
Can't find Deer Creek?
Thanks for the responses and the advice!
Don

sorry to tell you, but that's the wrong deer creek! the one with the underhammers is in waldron, indiana.

Thanks for the phone number, called them and ordered springs. Now to see if they actually arrive -- and work.

Has anyone tried to build one of these underhammer actions?

They are pretty quick in delivery. Heck you can still order the whole action if you want. My daughter built one just a few months ago. She's 11.
