This is an outstanding custom target rifle. Fit and finish is amazing. The 27" barrel is 1.13" across flats with shallow rifling and slow twist in w mirror bright bore. What you see in photos are shallow machine marks reflecting light. Nicely figured Maple stock with Swiss buttplate. Fine double set triggers with 13 3/8" LOP. The scope is ingenious, using a Glenfield 4x15 scope in custom foretube. Rear sight is a modified Carcano sight. With more period correct sights/optics, this would work well as a Civil War sniper rifle. Plenty of Oomph as a hunting rifle. Carries well with sling. No heavier than a Hawken with 34" barrel. $1400 SHIPPED. (OR $1300 w/o SCOPE).

Slow twist....conical / mini all or suitable for round ball?

My thinking is that with the slow twist and shallow rifling, the rifle was intended for a conical or minie.

The rifling looks much like that found in the .58 Trapdoor rifles built with repurposed ML Springfield barrels.

My compliments! Very fine-looking late percussion target rifle, not to mention great looking serious deer, elk, or moose rifle.
That will make a superb personal, custom rifle that will carry respect wherever it goes
