Hello everyone, this is my first post on this site, I am quite exhausted from searching about this particular musket, which is why I come to you all in hopes that I may get better help onto it.
I know very little about this musket, only that it has sprung possible ressamblences with french, American Civil War and Belgian reproduction muskets. But I cant nail down which it is
I will post images of the markings and the musket itself too.
There are no markings on the gun's stock butt (it is metal yes). And there are some *very* erroded golden bits near where the hammer hits.

I think it’s a Belgian copy of the French 1842 musket. All the real French ones I had apart , the hammer tumbler hole was hexagonal, not square. Any script on the lock plate, or is it bare?
