Right after the initial riots the cupboards in the major gun stores were immediately bare. Modern guns, ammunition, and reloading supplies -- particularly primers -- were nowhere to be found. At that same time both the Scheel's and Sportsman's Warehouse where I shop were also divested of their inventory of #11 caps. That was particularly bad news.

But, here's some good news. I stopped at Scheel's yesterday and found they were fully stocked with both CCI and Winchester #11 caps. (#10, too, but these never completely disappeared.) I might be able to stop at Sportsman's tonight to see if things are better there as well.

I am taking delivery of a case of 10,000 CCI #11s from the UPS today. I already have a set of Trackā€™s specifically designed for them coming for my Navy.

Addendum: I checked at Sportsman's Warehouse last night. They have a full stock of musket caps and quite a few #10 and #11, all CCI.

Just bought a tin of No. 11 CCI percussion caps at WalMart for $4.96 plus tax. They had about 5 or 6 tins.

I bought a set of Uncle Mikes nipples for my ROA years ago because: A. They used a standard nipple wrench and B. They fit #11 caps. I have used #11 CCI's ever since. Had a lot of problems with the Remington 10's priming compound falling out of the cap, and never went back to them. CCI's work great. The Winchester and Winchester Magnum caps work great on rifles, but I have not tried them on the ROA. Good luck!

The Gun works (- The Gun Works Muzzleloading Emporium -) has these nipples for ROAs 12x28 and for others that take a 6x.75 for what seems like a good price. CCI#11's (and Rem #10's) fit well.
