Sometimes people like to immerse themselves in the history of the time when their guns were made. Sir Winston Churchill wrote (non fiction) "The First Churchills". About John Churchill better known later as the Duke of Marlborough. Until Napoleon came along later, he was regarded as the best general in European history. The enemies he was fighting were Flanders, Portugal, and Spain.

Churchill was in the King's (Charles II and later his brother James) cabinet. His wife was Sarah Churchill a companion to Anne who was James's daughter. The BBC had a long series of 12 hour episodes "The First Churchills". John Churchill and especially his wife Sarah were in the middle of all the political maneuvering which ultimately led to their favorite royal, Anne, succeeding to the throne as Queen, sometime after "The Glorious Revolution of William and Mary. At this time the Churchills began to quarrel with their beloved Anne because she wanted peace and John Churchill was the great warrior of his time.

The animated parts are from the BBC series.
