We use to take a piece of tube (any kind of metal) flatten the back, drill a hole in it and use matchheads for powder and lay one on the hole to shoot it. We called it a zip gun. :hatsoff:

Yep Matchheads. we invented bombs by trying to make a rocket out of a co2 ctg filled with matchheads. Blew up a cheap barbeque grill we used for a grill and put a pretty big schrapnel hole through the neighbor's garage.

One story from a kid too young to have made it up was his brother had created a golfball cannon= a closed steel pipe he would drop a cherry bomb into with fuse lit and then roll in a golf ball. just as he had accomplished this, anothr kid came by on a bicycle winging firecrackers. He reflexively swung the lethal instrument on the kid and put the gb through the front spokes. Wheel pretzeled and the kid went down.
