Update on this. The pistol I asked about was on an online auction. I was all lined up to bid on it and life struck taking all of the money I had set aside. This pistol went for $250 and a brass framed 1860 went for $270.

I have the opportunity to buy an 1851 Navy .44 with the brass. In a hard case with everything needed to shoot it. Seller hasn't giving a price, kinda asked what I would pay(family friend). Powder, flask, wads, ball, caps, capper tool, etc. In great shape, also don't know what to offer.

If he was to sell it on consignment in a gun store he’s going to get his clock cleaned on the consignment. If you have to have it no more than three new or old unfired is new to me. Your going to need the accessories and you will probably have to spend time tuning it or sending it out to someone if your not familiar. I have a few of them and I never got one that was timed properly out of the box. I don’t own any Piettas I here they shoot great but all require minor TLC just like Ubertie.

what was the buyer's premium?

and how much was tax & shipping?

Tax would’ve been 9.25% and shipping would’ve been $0 for me. I could’ve just drove a little over an hour to pick it up.

Dayum, where can I get a vehicle like yours? If I run mine an hour it usually goes about 50 miles which costs me $25+. Then I have to get back somehow.
I used to think it was free to drive, back when I was a kid. Now shipping seems cheap in comparison.

We’ll, ok it would’ve cost me gas. I goofed on the distance. It’s a couple of hours one way. So let’s see, it would’ve cost me roughly $23. Cheap enough to call it “nothing”. Now I gotta ask, how much is gas where you live? It’s either really expensive or your vehicle’s gas mileage sucks!

It is worth what you are willing to pay for it. Better to get it in person
and meet the owner first hand. Light up the bore, since corrosion is
common in BP items and fake bore shot photos happen. If any serious flaws,
a discount is in order.
