I've read on this forum about White Lightening vent liner. Does anyone know what size is required for a Austin & Halleck flint rifle.

They only come in two sizes and both are a special thread that you have to drill and tap your barrel for.

You don't need to go there. Drill out the CVA style vent liner to 1/16" and it will do fine. You may want to file off a little of the liner so that it doesn't intrude into the powder chamber.
