My addiction is getting worse instead of better. I've got 3 Uberti pistols now('60 Army, 58 Remy, and 3rd Model Dragoon)That should be enough since I don't get to shoot em as much I as like. So what did I do? Got to talking to the dealer about a Uberti Walker and after giving me a fair price on one, I broke down and asked if the price per pistol was cheaper if I bought two of em. Of course he said by 40.00 a pistol. Two of em will be here Tuesday afternoon. I swear these are the last.

Liar... :rotf:

Sounds like your dealer knows how to make a sale. Have fun.

Couldn't pass up 2 Walkers for 655.00. May have to get a couple of nice holsters before I go to rehab. When I told my wife that the Walkers were a tad larger than the Dragoon, being the understanding wife that she is,she suggested some suspenders also. Gotta love a woman like that.

I think I remember and old saying, "He that has the most guns wins!" Or something like that, I am sure I heard it somewhere.

WOW! Strappin on over 9 pounds of steel! Sounds just like me, although I have a 3rd Model Dragoon in my left hand and my Walker in my right. At only 5'6" I'm told that I'm quite a sight wearing them two big horse pistols! I use an off-duty plain-clothes gun belt that's really stiff to hold up the weight. It's made by 511 Tactical and does a great job.

Good luck with them and have fun making smoke!

Suspenders, belt and thumbtacks!! :rotf:

Actually I did the same once, and got a couple of the military flap holsters (both sides) and did a flapectomy. Great fun and made me walk funny!

I got both Walkers Monday afternoon and couldn't beleive what I saw,---consecutive serial numbers. My shootin buddy came by that evening and I had to show him these bad boys. Well, he was dyin to buy one and because he is one of those friends that you feel blessed to have, I couldn't refuse to let him have one of em. Hell, I can only hold up and shoot one at a time anyway.

Now all we need is a photo of you two posing with your two Walkers  .

Remind me how to become your friend while you're at it! One of my shooting buddies moved to New Mexico a few years ago. He's been home some, but never enough time to go shooting :( .

Enjoy the Walkers and have fun and be safe!

I'm not certain that I'm going to shoot the one I kept. After handling it and my 3rd model Dragoon, Ilike the feel of the Dragoon better.I've shot it several times and its sweet.

I like the feel of my Walker slightly better. The 3rd Model Dragoon has screws that I feel when I hold it and the Walker doesn't. I've shot the Dragoon and it's nearly as powerful as the Walker. I use the Walker nipple wrench for both horse pistols--works great!

If you're not going to shoot the Walker you kept, are you going to shoot your friends?

I could not resist that.

I do not believe I could own a firearm I didn't intend to shoot. Had a chance to own a documented unfired Garand. No way could I own such a thing, first thing I would do is hit the range or step out back and shoot her.

You know how it is: Some folks STROKE 'EM and some folks SMOKE 'EM :haha: . I'm in the SMOKE 'EM crowd, and plenty of it too (52 grains worth per chamber) :) .

Just kiddin on not firin it.I'm a shooter, not a collector. In my '58 Remy and '60 Army I use 25grs Goex FFF, about 10grs cow, lubed wad, and.454 Hornady ball. The Dragoon is same except 35grs of FFF. What is a good load for the walker, with and w/o cream of wheat?

Try Smokin 50's load of 52/3F felt OpW under a RB in your Walker works great. No you don't need any Breakfast Food in the Damn thing. :rotf:

50-52-55 gr 3f under a lubed felt wad all work great. And after you've picked out the one you like best (.55 in my Uberti, .50 in my ASM), then you load up all six with 60 gr just one time and shake the earth a little. Do it at a public range when there are several others shooting and you'll become the only one shooting - I 'garuntee' they'll all stop and watch. But be sure you don't have any spinach in your teeth because you'll be grinning from ear to ear.

mykeal,

Couldn't have said it better myself, especially the part about the spinach :haha: . The following short story is merely meant for entertainment of all of those on this thread, not an effort to brag: At the private club that I belong to we have seven shooting pits at the outdoor range. When the Walker barks, people still come a runnin to see "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?" from the OTHER pits! My fellow League members are used to it and me by now, but new members checking-out the Black Powder League are always in awe of the hand cannon. That's when the League Chairman (my good friend) informs them that I'm shooting "a rifle charge of more than 50 grains of black powder" and it's "about twice what everybody else is shooting". Then he makes that neat laugh of his and says that my son likes to play with explosives too! :rotf: :haha: .

To sum it up, only shooters who don't mind being the center of attention should handle the Walker  :) .

Dave

I was shooting 60/3F in the Walker last Sunday at our club range. All the other shooters were using .500 S&W .44 MAgs. .454 Casulls Etc. When I fired the Walker no one even looked up. :(
