Want to make Hudson Bay Blanket gun sleeve

My current scratch build is a Kentucky style smooth bore flintlock with a 48", 62 cal barrel. Needless to say I do not have a gun case or sleeve that will carry this build to the range.
Diggin through my stuff I realized that I have a Penny's brand Hudson Bay Blanket. I want to make a sleeve that will have black bold hand stitching. I am not sure at this time if I want fringe or not.
Any photos or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, you make good sense, but I won it 30 plus years ago and might have used it once or twice. Might as well make something that I will use. Besides I should be able to get at least three sleeves out of the blanket. No good to me the way it is.

I made mine from scraps I had after making my capote. I lined it with Pillow ticking so I don't get a snag on the wool.

I used a wool army blanket from the 40s, when they were heavier, thicker. I found it in the house I bought, the property of a vet who had died at age 101. But it had cigarette burn holes. I was able to cut it and use the sunburned section. Laced it up with rawhide. Ain't got no pics.

I put a patch of soft leather on the inside where the lock is. Keeps crud off the wool and won't rub through.
