Here in Nebraska, Osage Orange or Hedge Apple, as most out here call it is used for fence posts regularly! That wood will last almost forever and cured is like ironwood! Makes excellent tomahawk handles too!

We have an almost endless supply here in N.E. Ohio. I use it for lots of projects. It machines very well.
