During the flintlock/early percussion era was there a rifle or design that was considered uniquely "Michigan"? While researching this question I've read about Indiana guns, Illinois guns, and Ohio guns but nothing that could be unique to or uniquely from Michigan. Just about every state touching Michigan had a flint or percussion design that was considered endemic to their area, and there must have been someone in or around Michigan either building weapons for people either living there or traveling there. Likewise, Michigan was an early important crossroads for hunters/trappers, pioneers and soldiers, so there was definitly a heritage dependant on quality weapons.
Was there ever a design or alteration that could be considered Michigan?
