Are you saying that I can unravel jute and wax it?

I was referring only to hemp.
However, just this morning I read where many hemp growers, under license from Big Bro, are giving up farming it. Seems the profit is gone.
Are you referring to the medicinal variety or the fiber variety? They are very different...

Fiber variety. Seems Fed. license is needed to just grow hemp. War time carry over from when hemp was used for rope.

Our tax dollars at work.... :shake:
I keep hoping for the day that logic and facts drive progress rather than political special interest groups with private agendas and deep pockets.

I'm going to pipe up from the peanut gallery.

I do a lot of fine-stitch sewing (10 and 12 stitches per inch), and for that I've found the 4 cord dyed and prewaxed Irish linen thread from Crawford to be just about unbeatable. Really smooth and consistent, and it comes in about a bazillion colors. That's the wholesale page I linked, but the retail isn't bad either when weighing quality and quantity against price. They make lighter and heavier versions, but the 4 cord is about the most versatile for my needs.

More to do with the smoking and inhaling ability

The fiber variety of hemp has negligible amounts of THC. It will not get a person "high"...

I recall some one I knew in the late 80s who had his herb garden sparyed with herbicide via the government. I recall the time about the fire when the story was told. I'm thinking it was Rifleman 1776, I recall him being there but don't recall who was telling the story.
I'm going to the night at the museum event at Arrowrock Mo on 4 june. Arrowrock was at one time the main market for hemp trade in our country. Ten percent of Americas hemp was sold through Arrowrock.
I never had any se for the smoking kind, and could not tell one from the other.
