This is a terrible shock and my prayers go out to Paul's family. I've enjoyed, and benefitted, from his posts for years. He will be missed.

This is a huge loss for us all in this hobby. As a long time lurker when I did have questions, Paul PMed me out of the blue giving me more detailed help than I ever expected. I always paid attention to his posts before that but more after his kind attention and help. Loosing good people like Paul always makes me sad, and he will be missed.

I am sorry to hear this and hope his family is doing well in this sad time

Wow, I'm knocked over. I just can't imagine this site without his book-length posts.

Swampy nailed it. I couldn't always agree with him but he sure contributed a lot to this site. And I can't say I didn't learn things from the man. Nobody can say he never took the time and space to make sure he got his point across. That kind of commitment and level of energy is sadly lacking from a lot of individuals these days.

Paul will be missed, that's for sure.

It might sound corny, but leaving this life while cleaning your guns seems like a nice way to go, when you think about all the other alternatives.

RIP, Paul. Prayers to your loved ones.

Wow, that's a shock. I found his posts very helpful. He sent me lots of useful information via PM. He seemed like a genuinely nice person.

He'll be missed.

Paul was one of my first, go-to guys when I started in muzzleloading and this forum back in 2006. I was always amazed at his ability to fill a few pages on what seemed to be a simple, straight forward question, but I find that endearing, now. He really took the time to help along the new guys in our hobby. A good man.

What a shock. I too liked to give Paul a hard time about some things but we were friends. He will be missed. I always teased him about being a lawyer. That is too bad. Ron

RIP Paul V...we lost an asset and a blessing to gun rights,,,,
but, and I'd bet money on this,,if he was here now, he'd say he could track himself and find himself..even over clouds and fog...

This is quite a shock.

yet in a strange way this forum and the internet allow for people to be remembered in the future.

A hundred or more years from now people will be searching the internet archives (like the internet wayback machine) and find posts by paul.

In the past people only lived on in memories now they may be remembered forever.

Thanks,
Foster From Flint

Indeed!!

Earlier today I was thinking about Paul and wondering why I had not heard from him in a while. Thought I'd e-mail him tonight...
Paul drove up to visit the local club I shoot with a few months ago. We had made plans to get together a few times before but it never worked out for one reason or another. I'm glad he did the drive. We talked for hours.

RIP Paul. You will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of this loss. :(

I've been dealing with a dying father, just found out a good friend died on his 4th day of retirement yesterday and logged on for the first time in months here and the first thing up is this. :(

My prayers go out to his family and friends.
