As stated before I'm already planning hunting trips for Fall & Winter 2005. Any of you hunters for the northern
tier states or Canada have any difficult with your flintlock
firing in extremely cold weather (Zero degrees)? Also can
you tell if the cold weather affects the point of inpact?
If you keep them all in the X @ 50 yds in summer months will
it keep them all in the X @ 50 yds in December? :hmm:

Short answer: yes.

Trouble is, it's not like a constant that you can dial into your sights. It is like moisture, the effect varies wildly from rifle to rifle. Some aren't effected as much, or even noticably.

For hunting deer sized game under 100 yards trust your sights and don't even try to guestimate a change unless you first get a chance to sight-in under hunting conditions. At 50 yards, it should be only a tiny change, anyway. Aim for the center of the vitals and even a 4" change shouldn't cost you a deer, or caribou, or moose . . . you lucky devil.
