Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows where I could buy some cotton webbing (preferably 2" width)for use as a possibles bag strap. Im looking to order online (website) preferably so it can be shipped to South Africa.

All the sites Ive found only take bulk orders.

Thanks

Check Military Surplus stores, too. They often sell webbing in any length you need. Its used for belts, shoulder straps, cargo straps, etc. You usally can get it in a variety of widths.

Depending on the time and place you want to portray, the hemp webbing that powderburner linked to would be very common, much more so than cotton webbing which was probably not available until the mid-1800s. It is good stuff and wears like iron, long outlasting cotton in heavy use. In America (I notice you are in South Africa so your needs/wants may be different) hemp was a common product on the frontier, with many families getting a good income from growing it. It was used for rope and sails by the world's navies and seafaring industries along with fabric. There are other suppliers, maybe some near you, do a web search for "hemp webbing". Good stuff.
