Happy Sunday to all. I just thought I’d take the time to share with you my Kibler Woodsrunner Build. My girlfriend and I saw this stock on his quick ship listings and saw the potential that particular piece of wood had… it was her, yes her that told me I needed to buy it… so to prevent upsetting her… I bought it.

There were a couple inlays I wanted for my Kibler. A hunters star and a moon. I also wanted an arrowhead shaped toe plate (I had to make that)

I also bought a brass ramrod tip to replace the included ramrod tip and designed my ramrod to have the brass end facing out, instead of in.

I used Kiblers iron nitrate for my stain (2 coats) then blushed with a heat gun. permalyn sealer was used as the finish. I put 4 total heavy soaking coats on the gun (only 2 of those in the barrel and lock channel) letting it sit to the point of almost being tacky then wiped off with a blue Scott shop towel. I finished with 2 final hand rubbed coats on the exterior of the gun.

I aged my brass with some brass aging solution then lightly scrubbed back with a green scotchbrite.

The barrel and hardware were blued (yes I know, don’t hate me) with arts Belgian blue.

This gun could not have turned out any nicer. I want to give a shout out to Jim Kibler and his crew. They are a wonderful company and his kits truly are precision. Thank you Jim, for devoting your time into building such a nice product. I truly admire what you’re doing for the sport. I highly recommend if anyone is on the fence … to take the plunge.

Also I want to give a shout out to the bucolic buffalo as he has a beauty kibler he built that resembles mine. Lastly, I have to thank my girlfriend Holly. Her and I recently met due to circumstances in previous marriages neither of us had any control over. She has come into my life not even knowing what a muzzleloader was and now embraces this industry and had the vision for this gun and saw the product come to life with me one step at a time.
