Finally shot my .36 1851 Navy today for the first time and all I can say is WOW! Since it was my first time I did everything slow and careful and by what I've read here on the forum. I used 20 grains of Pyrodex P behind a .375 ball/bore butter. I didn't use a target but I blew some wood chunks outta the stump I was shooting at so I guess I was hitting SOMEthing...Tomorrow I'll see what it does on a target!!!

I think you'll find that it shoots a ball right through both sides of the piece of paper...

In one side and out the other, yup, it surely will. :thumbsup:

As a new 51 owner myself, I know how you feel!
I can't use it for hunting here in PA, and my personna is mid 18th century, but it is a trip to shoot and I love it!!!
