It's being held out at Ben Avery Shooting Range about 25 miles north of Phoenix on I 17.

More kinds o matches than ye can shake a stick at!

No, I'm not competing as I got out of that years ago but I will be moseying around an watchin the dooins at least one days worth. Might even bring some o ma rifleguns fer people to chuckle over.

Even with our draught I'm hoping it will be nice and sunny although at that time o the year it's hard to say what the weather might bring.

Hope ta see ye there!!!

Just checked weather.com, wish I was there, for more than one reason. Hope you enjoy the visit with the folks who were able to make it there. On of these days I'll be among them. Take care, Rick.

Zonie;
I want to bring a rifle... I have a whitworth that I am shooting fairly accurately (long range) as wall as several other 50 yard guns.
How do you find what guns are allowed in thich matches... I also have three pistols that I thought I would bring...

As I am not competing I don't know all of the rules but I am sure they are all per the NMLRA regulations.

I believe you have to be registered to shoot any of the matches and I don't know what the costs are.

You really need to contact Bill Loughrige (480)557-0301 or the NMLRA at (812)667-5131 for general information.

The Western National Shoot Coordinator is William Loughrige.

The events are Hawk and knife, primitive matches, bench rest, offhand, X-Sticks, Silhouette, chunk gun, running bore, pistol, trap/skeet, sporting clays and gunmakers match.

This match lasts from Feb 25 thru March 1, 2004 and is being held at the Ben Avery Shootiing Range about 25 miles north of Phoenix;
Take I 17 (Black Canyon Freeway) north out of Phoenix. Look for signs for Lake Pleasant Turnoff/Ben Avery Shooting Range. Turn West on the Carefree Highway and go about 1/3 mile. The Range enterance is on the North side of the road.

There are no hotel/motels out that far so unless your camping there (which can be done. Talk to Loughrige) you will have to make reservations someplace.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
