What Are The Correct Barrel Pins?

Use anything you want; the material doesn't matter. As far as deforming, if you have to drive your pins out with a hammer you have the WAY too tight. I can push all of the pins in on my guns with my thumb and a little pressure, I push them out with a 1/16" punch and slight hand pressure as well.

On my last build the gun started shooting poorly, I checked the pins and found that I had to drive the front pin out with a hammer, it wasn't that way when I finished the gun. I suspect the barrel settled back into the breech just a hair after a bunch of shooting and changed the relationship between the lug and pin hole. I re-drilled the pin hole and slotted the lug a little more, I could push the pin in with my finger again and the accuracy came back.

Not my business but I am surely tempted to correct written grammar, which often creates ire on the part of the individual addressed due to my very weak endeavor to assist the English-speaking public. Often I am rebuffed. I hope the majority like to learn. Be that as it may the oft spoken phrase of "I could care less," actually means that the speaker does infact care but it is possible and probable that he/she is capable of reducing that feeling, the result of which is caring less. To care less implies that the speaker does care. If the intended meaning is that the speaker doesn't care at all, the phrase is, "I COULDN'T care less." It follows then that if he could not carry less, it is impossible that he currently cares at all, which is likely the speakers true intent when he utters the shortened and butchered version of the phrase without realizing he is actually stating almost the opposite of his actual intent.

most supply houses have pin stock. you will have to measure yours as they come in different sizes [ 2 normal sizes] but who knows what someone used., you may find the builder used finishing nails as was common.

I've replaced with nails, too. They don't have to be especially strong, there's not a huge amount of force being applied to them.

So what were you a English teacher . And most people do not like having grammar corrected is why you get negative feedback . I am a Old Redneck and not correct about anything I guess .

No, not really. Please do correct misstatements of fact; please do account for contrary experiences, please do express different opinions; but -- please do not "correct" fellow members' incorrect grammar, spelling or punctuation, no matter what your qualifications to do so. They're free to express themselves as they see fit.

That being said, whatever the relevance of your comments regarding the art of communication; if the communicator fails to communicate to the communicatee, the burden of failure is on the communicator. That from a former communicator in a communication profession many, many years ago.

Most of us are out of High School.or College. Few are going for 4.0 grade on here.Most understand that unless you proof read everything you write it most always comes out different. Moving on.....lol
