Any suggestions for a rifle around 7 # for a small woman?

You might go over to Traditional Muzzloading on the Cheap and ask if anybody has one of Mongrel’s “rugrat rifles” they’d part with. He built them with women and youths in mind.

Does Dixie still market their Pennsylvania ‘Cub’ rifle?

Might want to check the firearms for sale on this forum. A fellow just listed a TC Cherokee and a TC Seneca. Either would make a fine gun for a lady.

I shoot round ball with a 25g of 2f followed by 25g of Malto Meal and a .020 patch lubed with olive oil and a .490 ball. Makes one ragged hole at 25 to 30 yards. It's my rabbit and plinking load.

I have a .50 caliber Thompson Center Renegade with 26" barrel. I just now broke out the scale and it weighs 8 lbs. 0 oz. unloaded.

I have one of those Cabela's Hawken Hunter Carbines. Mine is a .50 with a fast twist. Works well with roundballs and pistol charges or fully-charged conical loads.

I've heard the Cherokees/Seneca's have a full 14-inch length of pull - more of a grown man's size. However for rifles, it seems that length of pull doesn't seem to matter as much.

I would suggest a CVA Frontier or a Traditions Frontier. My deceased wife was 5' and 110.. but she won some shoots with a CVA Frontier. They are simple, solid, good shooters and available used under $225. Look at them online. Polecat
