What do you store in your patchbox?

I found the perfect use for a patchbox. I store a set of earplugs in there. Can't tell you how many times I've got to the range without my cups, and then there are all those times my pards and I like to finish off a morning of hunting with a stop for some informal target shooting. I'm already half deef from too many years with guns, and I'm not willing to give up any more of my hearing without an animal sacrifice.

I only have one ML with a patchbox, and the only important thing in it is a note taped to the inside of the cover simply stating "bevel up". Seems I can never remember that lock prefers it that way!

Spare flint, one ball, tow worm (wrapped woth tow), screw style ball puller, button jag, vent pick, two vent feathers and I wrap it all in patching material so it won't rattle or fall out when I click it open.

as of late, I have been keeping various lube recipes, a list of drill sizes for loading blocks, a comprehensive tutorial on the tests of round, square and muzzle cut patches and a comparison of cast vs swagged balls along with foot notes regarding sprue placement! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

in all seriousness though, I keep a spare nipple wrapped in a cleaning patch.

Worm, ballscrew, and whatever other small objects (usually flints) I don't want to get lost in the depths of my shooting pouch between excursions. Eventually I'll make a small bag to put the tools and some tow/cleaning patches in and cut down on the rattle.

I can't imagine why people who have boxes on their rifles don't use them. I have found it very useful...
