Was on ebay and the whole format was different. If I wanted to look at an item for sale it took forever to let me see the pic's and I had a hard time trying to scroll down or up. Is it just my computer or is this the new ebay ? Also would like an opinion on ML parts on ebay, are they overpriced ? Thanks All

most are. but if you really need something...................
Ebay and every other thing keeps changing just to keep us old guy's confused. more confused. i guess. maybe!

It may be your computer or you internet provider. I was just on ther and everything was loading fast.
Now as to ebay ML prices.....you have to be prudent when purchasing on ebay. Since the so-called pandemic, greed seems to be the norm!! You can still find bargains, Many times I have gone straight to the manufacturer or big box store and found the same product way cheaper. Basically, today, anything you want to purchase, is a crap shoot. So that being said, good hunting my friend.

Prices on Ebay are just like I toss darts......all over the board. I have found some bargains on ebay, some even on GunBroker, but those are extremely rare and go fast when found.

The two things both sites offer...a wide search net across the nation for obscure items. Almost all are over-priced, but when you can't find it anywhere else, they have you by the short and curly.

For example...I just picked up from GB a complete T/C 54 cal White Mountain carbine that had been demilled by sawing off the breech for $160..I say complete...... Lock, trigger, tang Stock, Hardware, Ramrod and the demilled barrel (now 18") with stock sights and underrib. One hell of a deal. Yet complete WMC 54 or 50 cal stock on Ebay, with lock and trigger are listed for over $350..go figure.

It pays to frequent and shop.

If you’re looking for a specific part, set up a search with email alerts and wait for a “buy it now” price that suits you. A lot of the straight up auction stuff goes high and your best chance of winning an auction is by sniping it in the last few seconds.
Things change all the time but I usually look at it via a mobile device and haven’t noticed any big changes lately.

Thank You all for your help, I do appreciate it. Pretty much buying anything online is a big gamble as you folks mentioned. I was thinking of maybe putting a percussion long rifle together from parts, but it seem's by the time I get the parts to build a ML long rifle I could have an assembled working one for less $ . It all depend's on how much somebody is willing to pay for a ML rifle I guess.

Yes. But also if you want something that isn't normally available, it is the way to go.

For example: The WMC setup shown above with a 50 cal Renegade barrel I bought that is trashed internally cost to door for the two, $210....I am sending the barrel to My Hoyt, when he starts taking barrel work again for a rebore to 58 ca, 1:40 twist and cut to 24" You can't find something like that.

So after rebore, new sights and some cleaning up, I will have somewhere south of $500 in it. Yet it will be an unique unavailable big bore carbine. Will it shoot? Hell, I don't know, but I am willing to gamble to find out.

The bullet I hope to pair with it will be: 58 caliber, Minie, Springfield .575", Lyman 575-213 old style, 460 grain or the Springfield .575", Lyman 575-213, 510 grain,

Very good friend, and as always, once you get the ready built, you can always modify to taste.
Happy hunting.

Ya, it would be 1 of a kind plus you made it yourself and have satisfaction when you shoot it. I saw a long rifle stock with a lock on it for around $200 plus shipping would be close to $300 altogether. Thing is that the stock had a split on the inside of the stock in the middle of it several inches long. I don't think it is worth the asking price, but maybe it is I'm green behind the ear's as far as ML's go.

Nope, not worth it. Be patient, be looking and something will pop up.. Parts and pieces are bringing more than a complete gun in some cases.

Make is a strong word when all I have done is replaced parts and had somebody do the work. Original idea brought together by others superior skills, better said.

There might be a reason there are none around, but I am willing to find out.

I have a 54cal being rebored and relined to 1:38 twist and cut to 21" to fit on another like stock set up. That is going to use No Excuses "light" 485 gr 54cal conical.

EBAY was great, 20 years ago.
I watched a TC hawken flintlock stock sell for $530. Seems awfully high to me. Anybody know why it went so high, it is something special? I paid $350 for 1 last year in very good shape, probably a 70's vintage from what
