I have, from the 1960's, an Allen & Thurber center lock, side hammer plains rifle by Mowery of Texas. It is a .45 caliber, 1 in 30 twist, 32 inch octagonal barrel that measure 1 inch across the flats. It is unfired. There are some small marks and light scratches from years of ownership and light handling which would require close examination to notice.

Well sir, my sincere apologies if I caused any offence it wasnt intended that way.

I hope you find that BP rifle youre seeking.

I have a great respect for your Mountain folk and their culture, a hardy, innovative and frugal people.
Both sides of my family have been in the mountains here since the 1780s. Had to be hard times on some of them for sure

Over the years I've gone back to where I started with ML's, nil Brass just simple Iron furniture and a few incised lines with a little squiggle here and there.
Considering your own heritage why not go that way ?
Pecatonica River offer a great range of Kits at what I think are reasonable prices, thats where I do business nowadays.
