What is the price of black powder?

I was in a local store here in Massachusetts that happens to carry genuine black powder. I saw that the dealer has a placard that stated the powder is stored in a special safe so it isn't on display.

A price for a one pound can of GOEX black powder is $24.99. With the 5% to the Gov, it becomes $26.23

In your part of the world, what is the price of powder?

I bought a can of FF Goex for 15.95 on Friday. I think the last can I bought a couple of months back was 17.95.

Around these parts it is $19 and some change including tax. However last year it was $14 and some change. This is per pound for Goex.

$36.50 Canadian... if you can find it at retail. No one wants to carry it because of shipping problems.
Much cheaper if you can order 25#.

I paid about the same (25) two years ago from the LAST dealer in my part of the State who had any remaining stock; he stopped carrying it.

Can't mail order here so went in on some (10 lbs mixed lot) with a friend from Vt. Think it was about 14 for Goex and 18 for Swiss delivered.

Southern Indiana a one pound can of GOEX black powder FFF is $21.00 plus 6% tax.

$10.90 / lb delivered to my door...I buy Goex by the case...if you can't use that much odds are you could find a couple local guys to split it...and they'll mix the cans any way you want.

I've always used J&J Pyrotechnics in Moscow, PA, but there's a lot of Goex Distributors...look at the map (URL)...there's one right there in Westfield...

$15 for Goex. Now I wait till I'm ready for 10 or
so pounds and order it thru Graf & Sons and it
ends up costing around 12.50 or so.

Last I got was $10.50 for Goex and the last I was offered about a week ago was $12.00. You need to do as Round Ball said find someone to share and buy it by the case. It will be delivered to your door.

I have been putting a percussion TC Rengade together. Got the stock in one place and a factory barrel from ebay came in the mail today. I have everything but the .50 cal. balls, I was going to shoot 777. But my Brother in law just reminded me that he participates in Civil War reenacting and buys FFF Goex by the case :thumbsup: So I now have my powder supply nailed down. Life is good. :grin:

I just gave $11 something (11.75 i think it was) from powder inc. on 25 lbs, and that included shipping and hasmat.
TOW has it for 12.88 or something like that also including shipping and hasmat.

Here on the West coast of Florida BP is getting harder to buy locally. I bought the last three cans at my local supplier for about $20 each (it made me gasp) and when thet runs out I will try ordering five lbs by mail, I believe that is the minimum amt. Ron in Venice, FL

At Log Caben Supply I paid 15.50 Goex, not to long ago. I can get Lidi(chinese) loose like Goex for 10.50. Dilly

I drive to Maine and buy it 25lbs at a time.
Late time I bought 25lbs it was $10.50 a lb for shutzen and $11.50 lb for Goex..swiss was $13 lb...

It's not often Alaska has a lower price, even if it's not by much. Yesterday in Kodiak, I paid $22.00 plus 6% sales tax for a 1 lb. can of Goex 3f powder.
