Continuing my interest in early flint muskets, I bid on this thing but didn't get it. Auctioneer said 72 caliber and rifled, but I expect the rifling was done looong after it was made. Does anyone have any ideas what it is and when it was made? I thought maybe Swedish or a German State? Musketlike commercial gun?View attachment 360017

Need a muzzle picture so we can see the rifling referred to.

First of all it’s a very interesting gun.

I’m no expert and definitely not qualified to speak about this gun, but I’m very interested in hearing from those who do know because several things just don’t look right to me. I see this as an opportunity to learn something.

Thanks for posting.
For what it is ide say its as 'Right as nine pence " IE good , just what it is is a question . its old & suggests continental (Europe not the US ) all good but a puzzle right enough .
