Absolutely put everything into a tool box for range use. Make yourself or buy a nice bag for a day afield hunting.

That's what I do. Better yet, I can retire my old plain hunting bag as I am now a proud owner of one of Swampy's Road Kill 'possum bags. Thanks again Swampy.

There are many sizes and shapes around, you can buy one for under 20 bucks or make your own, I would start with something simple and upgrade as needed.

Folks,

I just bought the kit from Tandy Leather and got a few scraps of blacksmith side and created the patch knife sheath, extra pockets, And loop for the .32 ball starter. Just the wear and tear i've put on it has given it character. and a beaded strip is soon to be added. It's part of the fun with this obsession many items can be made by the shooter.

I have that book and consider it a good one. Ole Madison must have been repeating a story told to him without checking all the details. He wrote that book back in 1977 when you could not get online for a quick fact check.

PS - Clay Smith is making me a copy of the pouch in plate 5 of the same book.

Swamp Rat made mine.Looks absolute fantastic.
And as RC said, it's from a friend.

Undertaker, that is one fine looking outfit. I prefer the simple and workmanlike approach to things myself.

Thanks everyone for the advise. Seeing I'm new here I'm assuming that Swamp Rat is a person on the forum and he makes bags for people. I'll have to look him up after I do a little shooting and get an idea of what I use most.

Thanks again!

There are several of us that make bags, all offering something a little different, which is good. You need to decide what you want and whether or not you want to try your hand at making it yourself, which I highly recommend. Or if you like what one us have to offer.
