Ordered a lee R.E.A.L mould for my .54 Renegade. What is the beast lube to put on the bullets. Any home recipes?7

Well I just got done experimenting with my first batch of R.E.A.L.'s in .58 caliber. I found beeswax and some olive oil works. Add just enough olive oil to make it pliable so it cuts easy with a "cake cutter" to remove the bullets. In .58 cal I had to make my own cutter out of copper pipe. A definite PITA to get it just the right size. Be easier if one had a full set of reamers I think.

Place the bullets into a dry pan. Arrange the bullets. Melt the lube and pour into the pan. Allow to harden. Remove lubed bullets.

Thanks.

I just wipe the lube on with my fingers. A little messy yes but I have a rag handy. I don't shoot that often(conicals) so it's not practical to lube ahead of time. They dry up, collect dirt and so on.

I use Emmert's with my BPCR, which is:

50% bees wax
40% Crisco or lard
10% canola oil

Adjust the amount of canola oil as-needed for the tempature - more during cold months ot keep the lube softer. Seems to work pretty well, and I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work for ML, since it's the same propellant.

I stumbled on "Junior's lube", a concoction offered by a fellow named Junior Doughty. I still use it for BPCR bullets. Junior passed in 2014 but I still enjoy looking at his site.
I'm gonna put these links here for our fellow shooter's to read and enjoy.
If I'm violating a forum rule, I humbly apologize and am not offended if the Admin. staff removes them.
For "Junior's Lube":
