Holey Toledo is right @Loja man . Nope not missing anything in the conversion. And - the rain gauge does have to be tipped out, recorded, then replaced each time for the next deluge .If you 'google' flood event North Queensland and have a bit of a read, you'll get a good picture of the calamity. And there's more to come, we hear this morning. Thank goodness for the break in the weather over the last day though; it's given a chance for the waters to drain away for the next lot.As I said, we consider ourselves fortunate; a lot of folks have lost everything. My total of 1100mm (43 inches) pales next to the region just to the north - they received 1700mm - that's 66.9 inches! It's been an absolute rain bomb - neighbours recorded 456mm (17.9 inches) in a single downpour lasting just short of a day. That town's devastated, loss of life, property, inundated and cut off from all access. We'll do a bit more cleaning up today during the breaks.Cheers, Pete
