Well,Carl, what answer do you give him as to the LENGTH of the flint?
Seems to me that when all the poster says is that its an " Italian made Hawken", rifle, we don't have much to go on beyond pure speculation.
Zonie answered the length question. Measure from the front of the **** screw to the face of the frizzen with the **** at the half **** notch. Then subtract 1/8" to find a length. Whatever that number is, look for a size close to it.
That is about as good as anyone can say without actually seeing the lock, and gun. Some of the suppliers are so used to answering these questions about flint length, that they know the correct size if you give them the source of the gun. Italian made guns are sold through several vendors here, so its important to know which vendor sold the gun. If the only company in Italy that made these kinds of guns is Pedersoli, the answer would be fairly easy to give. But, there are several firms that have made these guns in Italy, and Spain, and elsewhere, so its anybody's guess. Worse, some of these import guns have locks made in other countries than the country that makes the barrel, and puts the barrel and stock together.
You continue to basically criticize posts of people you don't like, Carl, without offering a bit of informative answers of your own. Do you have any idea how tiring that kind of post is to read? Do you have any idea how many people here have you pegged???
I used to think you have something of value to contribute to this site. I am beginning to second guess my original assessment. I wish you would surprise all of us with the next post you make- and actually say something of substance. :shocked2:
