I was asked the following question:
"If a caplock ML shooter had a chance to get caplock related things at outstanding prices, what would be the top few items that they might be most interested in...like a flintlock shooter might be interested in flints?" I thought and said:

1) #11 caps
2) #11 cappers
3) Hot Shot nipples
4) Kap Kovers

Any other suggestions?

I agree with one caveat - the capper would need to actually hold the caps vertically rather than let them tumble around like marbles...

Real Cappers! Not the junk ones that are on the market today! Does anyone know of a source to get a quality #11 capper? I'm sick of the garbage. :bull:

What have you tried so far...any of the brass ones by Cash?

Sure, you make your own out of leather and throw away all the junk brass ones.

All of my cap guns "rifle and shotgun" have their own shooting bag and a Ted Cash capper. With out question, they are the best. (IMHO)

1.#11 caps. #2 .018 lub patches. #3 balls. #4 barrels. #5. BORE BRUSHES THAT ARE NOT CRIMPED TOGETHER, has the wire that goes thur treaded head. They are no longer avaliable in this area. #6. targets that don't move when being shot at. :) Sorry! I just could not pass it up. OMIT #11 caps [hazard charg]

Done that, but the leather lossens up and I start out with twenty caps and end up with ten on a good day.

I'm going to have to try the Cash capper you guy's are talking about.

I have used the capper by Ted Cash for about 25 years now. The tear drop shaped one for rifles. Mine is one of the copper ones that he made a short run of 100 limited edition. Most reliable capper i have ever used. I have tried the straight line cappers and find them to be junk.

Yeah, take all the extraneous taxes and rediculous regulations off the black powder so we can have $3.95 per pound Black Powder again.

:cursing:

I had never used a capper till recently. I got one of the inlines and it's nothing but problems. Caps going sideways halfway through, etc. I guess I'm in the market for a better one now, so I'd add cappers as my suggestion to the most wanted items.

Cooner,
I would just be happy if it were
readily available locally at $11.00 per #.

If I was asked, I would say larger caps and nipples to hold them, those tiny caps are a real problem with trembling hands...

That is why all my caplocks were converted to musket caps, but that is just how I accommodated my special needs...
