I have two Thompson/Center rifles, both purchased used (one F/L, one percussion). The manufacturer was VERY helpful in performing repairs (broken frizzen in shipping) - they are known for standing behind their products. I would go with T/C again for my first F/L. Of course, now I have the bug, and want to get a .32 squirrel gun.... Pennsylvania style is catching my eye...
