Greetings gents, does anyone happen to have a T/C .50 cal Cougar rifle they could put on a scale? I'm trying to figure out if one would work for a fellow shooters needs. Thanks!

What's a T/C Cougar rifle weigh?

I don't think it would weigh much more or less than a TC Hawken which has the same dimensions. My Hawkens in .50 weighs right at 8#, it was a kit gun and I took some wood off the cheekpiece and other places on the stock. I suspect 8# and a few ounces would be a ball park figure for the Cougar.
Eric is correct. The Cougar was the T/C Hawken with extra fancy wood and a different colored butt plate, trigger guard, thimbles and patch box. Weight would be the same as a T/C Hawken.
Having owned many TC Hawkens and now shooting a TC Cougar, I can honestly say...
* Nobody "needs a Cougar" when a Hawken will do everything it can do at a much lower price point.
* That said, I "wanted a Cougar" for the extra-special wood and unique metal trim.
I'd check with your friend again and differentiate "need" versus "want", as it could save him several hundred $$$.
If the issue is "weight" -- then he should be looking at the TC Cherokee or Seneca (with smaller diameter barrels).

The cougars and the silver elite's are starting to be collectible i wouldn't shoot it a hole lot there worth 2 to 4 hundred more than a hawken
