Here's what I've got so far:
Austin n' Halleck Flint Mt.Rifle,50cal, 32" bbl.
"Poorboy" flint longrifle, 40cal., 43.5" bbl.

Here's what's on the way or on hold.
Perdersoli Frontier Rifle,flint, 50cal, 39" bbl
G. Gedney Godwin Sea Service Musket, 75ca.,38" bbl.
Here's what I'd like to get in the future:
Nice 40 cal longrifle.
Brace of 62cal smoothbore flint pistols
62 cal Trade musket.
Does that look like about it for a nice flintlock collections of am I missing something?

How about adding a blunderbuss to the mix? :hmm: :winking:

I don't really have a need for a short barrel flintlock long arm, that's where the pistols come into play. Just wanted to cover all the bases as far as hunting and such are reguarded. Of course a 26" Blanket gun in 75cal might come in handy while camping out.

Or howbouts a duckfoot? Wee-doggies that would be a show stopper, why Granny could kilt four different kinds of vittles in one shot with that.

I guess if you run out of desireable reproductions you could add a few originals.

We could ask Squire Robin for a catalogue list of his flintlocks.

Four bores, eight bores, doubles. How cool would it be to go grouse hunting with an original Manton flinter?

Currently I own only one flintlock. Makes the decision easy when heading out to shoot. :rotf: I'm faithful once married. :haha: I do need a smoothbore for birds, though. Percussion just ain't the same. :winking:

So Stump, you are saying that you are married, and now want to keep company with a hussy? :rotf:

(Sorry, could not resist. I have one woman and many guns, which is why I have kept the same woman all of these years! Got my priorities in line -- oops, can I say that here!) :)

I think that's an admirable start. Here's a list of my stuff an what I'd like to have.
what I have:
Pedersoli brown bess .75 cal
Virginia fowler .62 cal
Virginia smoothrifle .62 cal
JP Beck .50 cal (in the white)
Early Pa rifle .50 cal (in the white)

what I want
A copy of the John Schriet rifle .58 or .62 cal
A french fusil de chasse in 58 cal
A smoothbore pistol in .58 cal

I think that will bout cover it for me.

The guy backed out of the musket deal so I'm back to looking for a smooth bore. So at the present time, after I get the Pedersoli Frontier from Rebel later this week I'll have:

Austin n' Halleck flint Mt.Rifle,50cal,32"
Poorboy 40cal,43.5"
Frontier rifle 50cal,39"

So what I need is a good smooth bore, at least one flint pistol and a nicely finished 40cal rifle, probably a Virgina style with iron hardware and a 40-42" bbl.

Talk to ya'll in a bit.

You have a gaping hole there: No squirel rifle! Maybe a .32 or .36 longrifle for treerats, 'coon, possum, groundhogs, etc.

So when do you need them?

I think the 40cal with a light load will work ok for "tree rats" and small stuff plus it's still legal for deer here in Tennessee, that's why I like that caliber.
As for "how soon do I need them", as soon as my wife let's me get em',LOL.
No, really, I was going to save back a bit from every other check in April for the Smooth bore that I thought I had a deal on. Since that fell thru I'm looking again. If anyone has a nice smoothy that's been well cared for, 62cal or larger, 36" bbl or longer(up to 44", don't really want anything longer.) shoot me a PM or e-mail with some pics. I'm in the market.
