What's Moose Spit

I saw a reference to Moose Spit, so I went looking. Must be around here somewhere, but I missed it. Found Stumpy's Moose Milk, Moose Snot, and even Moose Marrow.

If I had to guess, Moose Spit would be some sort of homebrew cleaning agent. Might it contain isopropyl alcohol, distilled vinegar, Murphy's Oil Soap, and what else? Or is that about it? If that ain't it, maybe we could come up with some sort of Moose Pee. :hmm:

Don't know. I never made a "spit" version. I would say moose spit is the same as human spit, which is my favorite patch solution for wiping when the bore loads up while shooting.

While doing some target practice at the range one Saturday, having left my canteen back at camp several hundred yards away, and being the ever so lazy so-and-so that I really am, I discovered anew the wonders of human saliva as a cleaning solution between shots.

I've made reference to "moose hide split" before.
moose hide is rather thick so they cut the hide thinner , creating two pieces , the hide piece and the "split" piece.
maybe I spelled it wrong? :hmm:
I use it to patch undersize balls in my Bess.
