What's your favorite sight in target

I would never see that target at 50 and 100.

I use a 6' clock hold on every thing, round works for me.

I use a post it note. Increasing sizes of the sticky lil buggers as distance increases. Why?.....just seemed right to me. Bright colors and they stick to trees n stuff

I use a target similar to the one posted. One with vertical and horizontal reference points. That way you always have 2 axis of alignment.

I use one of my cats empty litter boxes... I save a few up and paint em white with a spray can. If I’m feeling really ornary, there is a picture of a cat on the box, i don’t paint it and try and shoot the pic between the eyes. I shoot everything from paper plates, large pieces of square flat cardboard ... but I think the litter boxes are my favorite.

I use those orange stick on target dots, usually a 2 inch dot for 50 yard sight ins, and a 3 inch dot for 100 yard work. I affix them to most any backer, but my norm is the round cardboard from the bottom of a frozen pizza. I eat a lot of frozen pizza, and always have targets. I also use brown kraft paper (the kind for wrapping packages) as backer paper. I have a large roll of it.

I'm not much on paper targets, I save those for the pellet guns. But I do like the idea of post it notes. I use a steel gong for my target. I spray paint it some of the time. I use what ever color I have on hand.At the moment I'm using sky blue. There's something about the sound it makes, very satisfying. Almost theraputic.

Paper plate, and hold on the bottom edge. Gives me a good sight picture to perch the plate on the front sight.

I’m with Azmtman and Rat. I put a 2” yellow post it note in the middle of a paper plate.

I’ve used charcoal briquettes on a sting , for little more flare!

Can’t say I’ve hit that many however....

I sight in at 75 yards using a 6 o'clock hold on a 3" bull, using the target below. I have this target as a MS Word document and as a .jpg file. It prints on standard 8.5 x 11" paper. I can send you the file(s) as an email attachment upon request. Print a master out on your home printer. Then save your ink by taking the master to a copy store for cheap bulk copying.

I have a 12"x12" piece of AR500 steal and paint it white with the + in the middle like your picture.

That is my favorite.

No doubt about it Jack, shooting steel is a kick. And more satisfying than pie and ice cream. But one thing about paper is you can record load data and save it for future reference. The more guns you have the more useful that becomes (and I have way more guns than my wife thinks necessary - or even know about).

I keep my targets in a log book (old loose leaf note book) that way I have a record of what worked or more importantly what did not work

For sighting in NRA 100 yard bull with the 10 ring painted white. Just easier for me to see. But most of my targets are fun targets, clay birds, iron plates, cans, etc. Yesterday the boss and I went out with mine 36 cal. revolvers and hung up a 3 lb. coffee can and I play Josey Wales with one in each hand blasting away. The boss just shake her head and said " stay with your day job, you are no Josey Wales ". What does she know.

I have a large pad of targets designed for modern rifle. Other times I'll use the 6-bull from NMLRA. Both have multiple sighting points. I can make notes on them in advance and save walking back and forth to the targets between groups. BTW, I save old political signs. Most these days are made of a corrugated plastic and hold up in the weather. Price is right. Free. And you are doing everyone a favor by removing these after elections are over. You can also use them for backing or shoot directly on them.

Simply by accident, I learned just how VALUABLE it is to have a white or off white small center in a large black bullseye target for sighting in. The contrast between the white of the center and the black of the rest of the bullseye IMMENSELY aids the human eye. After I learned that, I began buying 1 inch Avery round or square Stick On Labels and putting them on every target I shoot at, to sight in both muzzle loaders and modern guns.

Further, it doesn't matter if you use a six o'clock hold or point of aim/point of impact hold on those 1 inch labels.
