to leave well enough alone! my .45 underhammer shoots great. good enough to win 1st place last year at our club shoots. well, i got the bug to replace the sights with better ones. removed the williams and installed the lyman 57. I swear thats all i did! I've been out two days in a row and burned a lb. of goex. i can't get that thing to group better than two inches at 50 off the bench. the rifle would hold one inch at 50 before. same load, same ball, same same. the only difference is the sight picture. anybody ever run across this? is it the loose nut behind the trigger?

Might I suggest putting the Williams sight back on and see if the groups return to normal...

If you are using the same appature? :hmm: The only difference is the distance to the eye. I really like the Merit Adjustable. Nothing slicker!

I have an old Traditions kit gun in a 50 cap that I absolutely hate the sights on. But I am more accurate with that gun than any I shoot...I'm not gonna change them
