I shoot a Mississippi rifle and kind of like the idea of sticking with real BP. I went to my favorite hunting store in B'ham and all they have is Pyrodex. I've never shot anything through it but real BP and I really don't want to change now. Call me an old fogey, but that rifle is darn accurate with the load I've been using. Does anyone out there know where I can get the real McCoy without having to mail order it and spend an arm and a leg on shipping?

Thanks!

BP Newbie

BP, I had a hard time finding it around B'ham. too. The only place close is Alabama Ammo in Moulton. The last time I purchased some there it was around $12.50 lb. I believe you can buy it at a distributor in Huntsville. I'm not sure of the brand though. Ala Ammo sells Goex only. If you want to split a case,(25 lbs) to get a price break, let me know.
E-mail me.

Out of B'ham take 78 Hwy up thru Forrestdale/Graysville like ya are going to Jasper on the Old road 78, (I think they call that Rt# 5 now. NOT the new part out of Graysville)). Old road, go past the Boobie Trap, past Dora and Summiton area and right before ya go over the Mullbery River you will see an Pawn Shop on the left side (old gas station) and it will have half a dozen old junk boats in front. That guy has a powder magazine & he stocks Real BP. Last time I got some there it was 11-12 a pound.. Since then I started buying mine direct & by the case for around 8-9 a pound.. If you don't shoot much this is a place that has it. If you shoot allot I suggest splitting a case with someone or 2 guys & then ya don't have to stock allot & still have an ample supply. I know one day of shooting a .54, .58, .62 cal can easily eat a can of powder, so if three of ya split a case we are talking 8-10 good days of shooting roughly each. :results:
