I'd like to try cleaning my rifle with tow, but I can't find it at any of the on-line stores. I swear I saw on Dixie's website a few weeks ago, but I can't find it now.

I got some from Smiling Fox Forge...

taxidermy supply stores used to sell Tow cheap--more cheaply than living history oriented sites. try googling taxidermy supplies...

Try Susan Wallace of Silver shuttle (ad in the back of Muzzleloader mag). Beware! A little goes a long way, The min order is enough for five or ten years. By the way, the stuff is cheap!

This is a sure enough green question? What is tow? I understand the uses but where does it come from.

Yep. I bought five pounds from her back in the 80's. Still have plenty left. :haha:

Comes in big twists/hanks that looks like a twisted wig. My wife gave me a really funny look when I opened the box full of it. Smells nice, too.
