Why would you use teflon tape on the plug? Wouldn't it be prone to melting during firing? I ask this because I have an FCI barrel that the plug is pretty loose on. In fact, I only need finger pressure to line up the index marks. That, in my opinion is too loose.

I'm wondering if I shouldn't lock tite it when it comes to final assembly after the vent liner is installed. there are 8 good threads that make good contact, so I'm not worried about the plug blowing out, and I'm only going to hunt paper with it too, so my pressures won't be very high.

Please tell us what you find out about the difference in the plug. Sure looks strange in the picture.

Barrel looks good and the price is definitely fair IMO.

Will Mr. Hoyt work on Spanish barrels, as in CVA?
