Suppose a guy has patiently been after a particular Bess for years (as in over a decade), but hasn't found what he's been looking for. Say that Bess is a Long Land pattern with a 46" barrel and a steel ramrod; and nothing less. (Perhaps it's at the end of it's era.) Ideally it would be in 0.775 cal, but .75 cal might do. Further suppose the same guy fully intended to use such a Bess with live fire loads on wild game, and had ruled out India made guns. Where or who would a guy look to getting such a Bess?

Know Roy Stroh advertises one like you describe. It was made form a set of Rifle Shoppe parts which would probably mean a lloooonnnnngggggg wait, unless it was actually in stock. TOTW sells a kit of a LLP gun and can probably recommend a maker if you don't feel comfortable of taking on the challenge.

The kit from TOTW may or may not meet your requirements as it has a wooden ramrod, the curved (banana) lock plate and no nosecap. The LL pattern you seek (1756) has the straighter lock plate, a steel ramrod, different ramrod thimbles and a nosecap. If you hire a pro to build the TOTW kit, they could convert the thimbles to fit a steel ramrod by installing bushings, and add a nosecap but it would still have the curved lockplate.
