I have Been Interested In BP Guns For About 2 Years Now. I Have A Traditions Trapper Pistol Flintlock In .50 Cal. And A 3rd Mod. Colts Dragoon Revolver. I Enjoy Shooting These As Much Or More Than My Modern Guns. What Would The Folks Out There In The Forum Suggest As My Next BlackPowder Gun ? While I Am NOT Rich I Can Save-Up For A New Addition (don't tell my wife this however) To "Play With" On Those Sundays That I Can Call My Own ?
Just Wondering, Nilo

a well made sidelock target gun. I have the flint trapper, heavy and bulky, front heavy and little balance. Compared to my target guns it is a clunker.

You might take a look at the Thompson Center Patriot pistol, .45 cal. They aren't made anymore, but you can still find them.

I like to try unusual pistols. I have a couple of .36 5 shot pocket pistols. And then there is the Rogers& Spensers, the Grisswald and Gunnisons,
a 51 Navy is a nice looking and balanced piece.

I like odd guns too. I have two Palmetto Target pistols with Morini style grips that I have never seen in any catalogue or advertisement. I have never even seen any others anywhere. They are Tingle style guns, but with adjustable triggers and fancy free pistol type grips. I got them brand new in the boxes at a gun show in Richmond VA and the guy said they were "samples" sent here by Palmetto to solicit orders.

I understand that the Pedersoli importer, up in New England gets some one of a kind guns occaisionally that he sells off on his web site. Sorry I don't even remember the name.

There are also what I refer to as gadget guns. The little 22 cal cap and ball revolvers, the Classic arms guns About ten years ago, some outfit was selling odd stuff like muzzle loading double barrel 410 pistols with 20 inch barrels. One was for sale on one of the auction sites a few weeks ago.

I called Cherry's about a Pedersoli Saloon gun. Was told if they could get it at all, it might be 6 months to a year wait. As I recall they also wanted the $ up front for special orders. Why advertise a gun when they don't even know if they can get it?

I'd go with a 51 Navy by Uberti. You'll probaly wind up with one sooner or later anyway. They're a classic that balances well, are fun to shoot, economical, and just need to be in your collection.

OK you did not state that it was a pistol or a rifle that you want?, i got my first rifle not to long ago, best thing i ever did.
Boomm.

My next revolver is going to be the 44cal Colt Walker. Big gun, very BIG gun. I love the look of it. It was the most powerful gun for that time period. It was said, God created man, Sam Colt made them equal. Just a thought. Good luck in your search

I Am Interested In Old Technology Weapons. I think They Are Much More Interesting To Shoot And Use. I Bought A Flint Lock Pistol To Learn About The Only Ignition System Approved By God (seen any primer caps laying on the ground anywhere ?) And While It Is Not As reliable As Modern Guns The Have A LOT More "Soul".

The Trapper IS A Heavy Handfull And I Guess It Is Front Heavy Too. I Honestly Thought These Guns Were Supposed To Be So. I have Not Had A Chance To Hold A "Taget Pistol" Yet. I Will Have To See If I Can Find One To Try.

Wow ! Those Guns Really ARE Cherry ! But I'M Afraid To Much For My Wallet.

Not Very Rich Nilo52

I Have Seen These And I Think They Are Beautiful Looking Things. I Will Probibly Buy One When I Get The Chance.

I Am Also Kinda Interested In A "LeMat" Revolver As A Curio. Nine Shots and A Shotgun Barrel To Boot ! Only Thing Is I've Heard They Have A Weak Action And If I'm Going To Pay That Much I Don't Want It To Break !

traditions william parker or a pedersoli LePage
handle well and shoot better than most can see!

For me "the only interesting guns are accurate guns". Two pistols come to mind---Thompson Center Patriot and Ruger Old Army.

The ROA is a fine accurate B/P handgun. The arm is easy to clean and load. It will handle bullets or RBs. You can also buy an RD Cylinder and use it as a modern smokless six-shooter.
