Which Pouch n’ Horn?

When getting a new muzzleloader, I always get a new pouch and horn, too.

For my new Kibler Woodsrunner, I’m curious what would be a historically accurate set for a 1760 era Virginia-made rifle?

Whatever I've done, wherever I've gone with the re-enacting hobby, one of the lessons I've learned is that simplicity transcends time & place. A simple D or square shaped bag can be used with any impression from 1750 to the eve of the Civil War. Same goes for powder horns.

Cruzatte is right on target. A small hunting pouch around 7-8 inches square would be period correct. Mark Elliot does some good reproductions of Virginia period pouches to get an idea: https://www.markelliottva.com/

A French & Indian period lobed horn, with or without scrimshaw, would also fit well.

We know of lots of beautiful skimshawned horns from that time, my gut feeling is most had plain.
Horn making was a profession like riflesmith and people loved art when they could get it
A simple horn and small D shaped bag would probably be average
