Manufactured by E. Whitney in 1834. Lock reads "E. WHITNEY" under clear and deep US insignia. Behind the lock reads "NEW HAVEN 1834". Breech plug dated 1834. Barrel marked "A.H. over Oval P". Buttplate has "US". Mechanically fine with strong springs. Period correct ramrod. This musket was originally a flintlock which was converted to percussion and armory shortened by 3 inches, as many of these were for the US Civil War. Equipped with leather sling.
The stock appears to be untouched and all original with a cartouche on left flat. Expected dings and dents for a weapon of this age.
