I have a Pietta 1860 Army snubnose w/ a 2 1/2" barrel that my friend Chuck gave to me, so I have the option of long or short bbl. Needless to say, the long barrel has never been back on the gun. I've used .454 swaged balls and filled the chamber w/ powder to where the ball just sat down a little - 25-30 grains of FFFg. THe gun shoots a bit to the left, so I just aim at the far right of SASS style plates, and at 7-10 yds. I get that nice satisfying "ding," along with some real smoke and flame.
